Rufus
Rufus (b. 1961, Canada) works in multiple styles which enable him to record everyday experiences in new ways. He paints a diary of his interests and influences, from songs and books to conversations and walks with people.
Rufus paints what he feels and therefore his paintings reflect his feelings. When he reviews his work over many decades, the layering of experience seems to be recorded in surprisingly accurate ways. If his feelings are hidden, his paintings will be inhibited, and if he allow his feelings to be openly expressed, his paintings will be expressive. When he is tuned into a piece of music his paintings start to describe something about the music.
